Qingdao, China, March 15th, 2018 –The offshore base of Haier Israel Innovation Center was officially launched in Gaoxin District of Qingdao today, adding more momentum in the cooperation between China-Israel industrial innovation as well as in local technological upgrade.

Sponsored by Haier Israel Innovation Center(HIIC), iHaier, Haier Open Partnership Ecosystem and the Administrative Commission of High-tech Development Zone, the launching ceremony attracted more than 100 audiences.

Five Israeli startups presented their most up-to-date technology in sensor, IoT communication, AI Image recognition and indoor air purification to participants from various business units to Haier’s product line managers. Similar meetup was also held the same day at Haier University.

The companies are 3Dsignals, WebyClip, EyeSight, Salamandra Zone and WizeDSP.

Daniel Oleisky, CEO of HIIC, addressed at the ceremony that HIIC is looking forward to going into Chinese market through getting exposed to local team as much as possible. In the meantime, he believes that there will be more high-grade project landed in Qingdao through the integration of resources and projects carried out by both Chinese and Israeli part.

Representatives from Gaoxin District, Qingdao, Cavan Yu, Global Resources Operation Manager, as well as the Managing Partner and General Manager of Hai Chuanghui, the incubation platform for Haier Group attended.

This is a part of Haier’s TechLink startup road shows, with the purpose of creating as much chance as possible for Qingdao-Israel hi-tech collaboration through face to face communication, creating the accelerating platform for the adaption of Israeli technology into Chinese market.

On 15th afternoon, the five startups had a face to face meetup with Haier’s managers and R&D staff from various product lines such as refrigerator, washing machine, air conditioner, kitchen appliances and other research departments. 

“We’ll bring the most cutting-edge solution in Israel to Haier.” Said Daniel Oleiski. This roadshow is the outcome of collaboration between Israeli innovation and and Haier’s converting ability, as well as the result of HIIC’s effort.

This launch marks the strengthening cooperation between Qingdao and Israel and gaining of access for China-Israel high-tech acceleration. With more Israeli companies going to Qingdao for roadshows, HIIC will help Haier build world-leading accelerator for home appliances industry.

Known as the “Startup Nation”, Israel has strong ability in innovation and has rich innovation resource. With the establishment of HIIC and its Qingdao base, Haier is more capable of including top-ranking technological resources into HOPE, thus generating innovative solution at a continuous speed.
